Trip to AFamosa Resort Malacca on 3rd - 5th Dec 2010

On 3rd Dec 2010, PD Toastmasters Club members went to AFamosa Resort Malacca and came back on 5th Dec. We had a GREAT time there. 14 members went. They were Tan Soo Guan, Tan Lai Hock, Kay Ku, Chandran, Indra, Harold Gomez, Dharma, Kala, Rosa Phua, Yeoh Lian Geok, GT Singam, Vallie, Stephen Francis and our Area Governor Robert Ram.

Two cars driven by Tan Lai Hock and Indra went first. We arrived at about 4pm and straight away checked into our two bungalows, courtesy of TM Indra. Another car driven by Stephen Francis came about 8pm. Once settled down, we wasted no time in getting down to a game of cards. Dinner was buffet dinner at the Club House Golf Terrace costing RM45 per head. Then it was back to the bungalows with the continuation of our card games. It went on till the wee hours of the morning.

The next day, it was to the Safari Park after breakfast at the bungalows. We went to several shows at the safari park: Bird show, Multi animal show, Cowboy show and Elephant show. The safari ride in the truck was especially memorable and so was the ferry ride to the Monkey Island. Lunch was chicken rice or rendang chicken rice with a drink. It came as a package with the entrance ticket. At night, our AG Robert Ram and Kay Ku came and joined us for dinner outside, at a Malay Restaurant. We had Nasi Goreng, Mee bandung, Nasi paprik etc.

After that it was time to go to the Cowboy town. We were late and so we missed the Red Indian show. We waited a while and was entertained by the fantastic Carnival Parade. It was well worth the wait. After a walk round the cowboy town, it was time to go back to our bungalows and self entertained. What else but card game till the early morning. We also enjoyed the KFC and Dominoes Pizza, courtesy of Kay Ku and Soo Guan. There were canned beers too from this couple.

The last day saw us having home made breakfast by the ladies. Then it was card games again. We enjoyed so much that we had to request for late check out time. After bargaining with the management, it was agreed that we could check out at 1.30pm.

It was a great trip. Very enjoyable. Very memorable. Very affordable. We really got to know each other well and in the process we became closer.

We hope those who didn't make it this time, will be able to make it for the next outing. Below are a few photos taken during the trip.

Waiting for the Bird Show to start.

Time for another photo before the bird show begins.

The ferry ride to the Monkey Island. Look closely and you can see Dharma and Soo Guan at the extreme right.

A general view of the cowboy show.

Lining up to get into the Safari Ride truck.

Wow. This is one lucky guy. One man to 4 women.

A group phot0 for remembrance.

At the cowboy town, we met Harold's long lost "twin". This guy really looks like him if seen from both sideview and back view.

A group photo inside the bungalow.

Busy busy busy. Busy making money or losing money.

GT Singam and Robert Ram full of envy for Kay Ku the banker. Superb good card she has. All "makan". Ha ha. For the record, the AG make RM12. He keeps putting his winnings into his shirt pocket. So, no one really know how much he makes.

Till the next trip, here's the camera man signing off. Adios Amigoes.
