Just for the record, the previous meeting #19 was not reported in the blog.
The current meeting started promisingly with the Table Topics session, helmed by Indra R. who gave us a host of idioms and proverbs, recorded below for our perusal and further ruminations.
Sadly, our younger members especially were literally at a loss for words - reason, not that they were tongue-tied but have never heard of these expressions. This is a sign of our times, they are not to be blamed. Future TTMs take note, perhaps a suggestion could be this - give them the idioms/proverbs, explain the meaning and significance behind these sayings and let the speakers' creativity flow from there.
IDIOMS - pulling my leg; spill the beans; feeling blue; an arm and a leg
PROVERBS - a picture paints a thousand words; necessity is the mother of invention; a chain is no stronger than its weakest link; a good mind possesses a kingdom; love me love my dog; a burden of one's choice is not felt.
There was only a prepared speech by Arrchaana who was doing her CC#6, elaborating on wealth (and its negative impact).
The meeting ended with the induction of our latest member and a reminder by Actin President, of the coming Saturday's joint contest with ALAM
