Word of the Day-Fester

To fester (FES-tur) -- from the Latin for "ulcer" -- is to be or become an increasing source of irritation.

Example : "Letting a disagreement fester is counterproductive in many ways: It creates a hostile workplace, discourages teamwork, wastes time and resources, and in the end, accomplishes nothing. Everyone loses."
